MMMA Marks Academic Completion of Batch Alazzealeos

MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy (MMMA) marked another milestone on June 5, 2026, with the Academic Completion and Turnover Ceremony for Batch Alazzealeos. The event formally sent off the cadets for their onboard training and professional development at sea, following the completion of their academic journey which began in 2023.

A total of 279 cadets were accepted for deployment on vessels managed by Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC) and Magsaysay MOL Marine, Inc. (MMMI) The ceremony signified the transition of cadets from classroom learning to practical shipboard training, where they will apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout their academic journey.

MMC President Arnold Javier welcomed the 139 cadets assigned to Magsaysay-managed vessels and encouraged them to maximize their 12-month onboard training. He urged them to learn from experienced officers, engineers, and crew, remain curious, and continuously apply their academy learnings.

Similarly, MMMI President Capt. Teodorico De Guzman congratulated the 140 cadets, reminding them that the ceremony marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of learning, growth, and resilience in the maritime profession.

The event also celebrated outstanding achievements among the cadets. This year’s PMA Matikas Leadership Award was presented to its first-ever female recipient in the academy’s history, recognizing a new vanguard of service. Another memorable moment featured a heartfelt message from a cadet representative, whose reflections on perseverance and determination resonated deeply with fellow cadets, faculty members, and guests.

The ceremony highlighted MMMA’s continuing commitment to developing competent, values-driven, and globally competitive Filipino seafarers. As the cadets begin their onboard training, they carry with them the academy’s mission of excellence, leadership, and service; ready to contribute to the future of the maritime industry.
