NordCham Philippines Honors Erik Nielsen as Recipient of 2024 Legacy Award

The Nordic Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (NordCham Philippines) named Erik Nielsen, Global Process Manager, Inc. (GPM) President, as the recipient of the 2024 Legacy Awards. The award honors and recognizes Mr. Nielsen’s contributions that have left a legacy of excellence and inspiration within the NordCham community. The Nordic-Philippine Business Awards Ceremony was held at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City on May 23.

 

With the Nordic spirit coming to the fore in 2012, Mr. Nielsen pioneered the establishment of the Nordic Business Council of the Philippines which later became the Nordic Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines. Mr. Nielsen’s dedication and commitment has contributed to the growth and development of the Nordic-Philippine business community. Now with over 100 members, NordCham Philippines is the largest Nordic Chamber of Commerce in Asia.

“In my small ways, I am proud of being part of the inception of a Nordic business council in this country when there was initially none. With the help of my contemporaries and colleagues, I am truly grateful for how we were able to grow and expand the Nordic Chamber of Commerce to what it is today. I am also extending my gratitude to GPM, which manages our clients from Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. I shall continue to support NordCham Philippines’ initiatives with the same commitment and excellence,” Erik shared in his acceptance speech.

 

Mr. Nielsen is Honorary Danish Consul, Vice President of the European Chamber of Commerce, Vice President of the Nordic Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the European Innovation, Technology, and Science Center. He sits as Board Director of TrainingWorks Inc., One Team Services, Inc., TravelPeople Ltd., Travel Services Inc., and PeopleLink Corp. He is also a member of the Consular Corps of the Philippines, Makati Business Club, British Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, Australia-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, as well as the IT & Business Processing Association of the Philippines. In 2014, he was conferred the Order of Knighthood of Dannebrog by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark.
