Magsaysay Shipping and Logistics (MSL), led by Magsaysay Shipmanagement, Inc. (MSI), celebrated the hard work and invaluable contribution of its officers and crew members with MSL Crew and Family Day held last December 19 at the Robert Hall in Times Plaza Building, Manila. The event was a joyful celebration of the deep bond between seafarers and their families, with attendees from Cavite, Lucena, and nearby provinces.
The celebration kicked off with warm opening remarks from MSI Deputy General Manager Arnold Garbo, setting the tone for a meaningful gathering. MSL General Manager, Tankers Division Abel Cagara, and MSL Head of the Liner Division Reynold John Madamba, also delivered messages, emphasizing the important role of family support in the crew’s success.
With the theme “Sail the Seas, Roll the Bingo,” the celebration featured exciting raffle draws and bingo games, giving every family a chance to take home prizes. The activities brought joy and excitement to the attendees, strengthening the connection between the crew and their families.
The event concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from MSI Crewing Manager Erickson Quijano, who reaffirmed the company’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of both its crew and their families. He emphasized that nurturing the happiness and security of families is not just a responsibility but a cornerstone that provides seafarers with the peace of mind needed to navigate the challenges of life at sea. “Mas mapayapa ang pag-tratrabaho ng ating mga crew, kung mapayapa din ang pamilyang iniiwan nila,” Erickson said.
Officers and members onboard local vessels from Lorenzo Shipping Corporation (LSC), NMC Container Lines, Inc. (NMCCLI), Islas Tankers Seatransport Corporation (ITSC), Batangas Bay Carriers, Inc. (BBCI), and Marine Fuel Philippines, Inc. (MFPI) also showcased their talents with their performance videos. Families were entertained as they cheered and applauded for their loved ones.
The MSL Crew and Family Day 2024 was a sincere reflection of the close-knit ties within the Magsaysay community, leaving attendees with meaningful memories filled with celebration and appreciation.
