MAGSAYSAY Joins the International Coastal Cleanup 2026

More than 300 members of the MAGSAYSAY community gathered at SM By the Bay Central Park on September 19, 2026, to participate in the 41st International Coastal Cleanup (ICC), a global initiative promoting cleaner and healthier coastal environments.

Armed with gloves and collection sacks, volunteers spent the morning removing plastic waste, bottles, wrappers, and other marine debris along the shoreline. The cleanup contributed to ongoing efforts to reduce pollution and help protect marine ecosystems from the harmful effects of improperly disposed waste.

The activity was organized by the MAGSAYSAY Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES) team in partnership with the Homer Foundation, MASAYA Realty Co., Inc., Magsaysay Shipping and Logistics (MSL), and Global Process Manager (GPM). Employees from across the MAGSAYSAY community took part, alongside members of the Magsaysay Wives’ Club and delegates from the MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy (MMMA).

Beyond restoring the shoreline, the event highlighted the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges. Marine debris remains a significant threat to coastal and marine ecosystems, making community-led initiatives such as the ICC an important part of environmental stewardship.

The cleanup served as a reminder that meaningful environmental impact can start with simple actions, especially when communities come together in support of a shared cause.
