The A. Magsaysay, Inc. (AMI) Human Resources team participated in the 2026 HR & Leadership Summit held on September 25 at the Novotel Manila Araneta Center in Quezon City. Organized by the Philippine HR Group as part of its 10th anniversary celebration, the summit carried the theme, “HR at the Forefront: Driving Direction through Disruption.”
The event brought together more than 500 HR practitioners and business leaders for a day of learning and knowledge-sharing through plenary sessions, panel discussions, and presentations focused on the evolving role of human resources in a rapidly changing business environment.
Representing AMI, HR and Organization Development Head Julian Paolo Nagtalon joined an industry panel discussion titled “From Roles to Skills: Developing the Workforce of Tomorrow,” alongside leaders from the HR and business sectors. The discussion explored strategies for addressing skills gaps, developing future-ready talent, and aligning workforce capabilities with organizational goals.
The session highlighted the importance of talent development as a shared responsibility among HR, business leaders, and people managers. Panelists emphasized that investing in employee growth helps address skills gaps, strengthen organizational capability, and build a strong pipeline of talent to support future business needs. The session also underscored the role of HR as a strategic business partner, aligning people initiatives with organizational goals and performance.
As industries continue to evolve, discussions at the summit underscored the importance of embedding skills development into everyday work, enabling organizations to build agile and adaptable workforces capable of responding to changing market and business needs.
