A delegation of high-level US businesses and non-profit organizations executives led by the US Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo, visited Manila from March 11 to 12 for a trade and investment mission.
The trade mission aimed to deepen US-Philippine commercial ties in trade and investment. In celebration of Women’s Month, a roundtable discussion on economic opportunities was organized on March 12 and was attended by US Ambassador MaryKay Carlson, US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, and women executives and investors in the country, including Magsaysay Group President and CEO Doris Magsaysay Ho.
Ms. Ho, together with the Ayala Group, Asia Society Philippines, Nanette Medved-Po, and Geraldine Acuña Sunshine, arranged a luncheon and exhibit thereafter at the Ayala Museum. The exhibit showcased the country’s arts and culture with the Filipino spirit. It also served as a Farewell Lunch for US Ambassador MaryKay Carlson. The gathering was attended by embassy officials, top business executives, and other distinguished guests.
In addition, Magsaysay Children’s Chorale had the privilege to perform and serenade the crowd with two endearing songs, Leron Leron Sinta sung by the chorale, and a solo performance of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Deeply honored by the visit, the kids expressed in chorus how the Philippines is a great country with a bright future of children who are hardworking, smart, and happy.
