Magsaysay Group President and CEO Doris Magsaysay Ho is among the panelists of the Shaping the Future of Shipping – Seafarer 2050 Conference, sharing her knowledge and experience in retention and career development in seafaring. The summit was held on June 26 at the Conrad Hotel, Pasay City.
In her talk, Doris emphasized the value of caring for the seafarers as they play an integral part in global shipping and trade.
Organized by the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), the event was attended by key players in the maritime industry who shared the current challenges they face, such as skills, education, and training requirements, as well as presented solutions needed in the future to deliver a strong workforce. The event also brought together industry leaders, shipowners, government representatives, regulators, financial experts, non-governmental organizations, and technology and infrastructure experts.
In addition, in celebration of the Day of the Seafarers, Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC) leaders also graced a gala dinner hosted by the Filipino Shipowners Association (FSA) at the National Museum of Natural History.
