The MONIN Coffee Creativity Cup (MCCC) 2025 Philippines: Alchemy of Flavours, organized by World Wide Food Supply, Inc. (WWFSI)—the official importer of MONIN in the Philippines—was held last April 28 to challenge and celebrate the creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation of Filipino baristas in creating world-class beverage experiences using MONIN products.
Hosted at Brittany Hotel BGC, the event brought together 12 talented baristas representing their coffee shops, cafés, and professional communities. This national competition served as a platform for showcasing the artistry and skill of the Philippine coffee industry. As the official organizer, WWFSI with MONIN continues to champion local coffee professionals and elevate beverage standards in the country through high-impact initiatives like MCCC.
Participants presented their original coffee creations using MONIN syrups, sauces, and Paragon to a distinguished panel of judges composed of professionals and experts in the coffee industry: Richelle Ortega-Labrusca, Head of Products at Deuces Coffee and Director of Operations at Roastery Lab OPC; Rian Asiddao, Founder of DBWY (Drinks Be With You) and Diageo Brand Ambassador; Larry Andrada, Master Barista and Champion of the Monin Coffee Creativity Cup 2023 and La Marzocco Showdown 2024; John Eric Enopia, John Eric Enopia, Head Roaster of TCD Café; Ian Paguiligan, Head Trainer for Barista, Brewing, and Latte Art; and Supatochote Kusonsurasak, Beverage Innovator for Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar for MONIN Asia.
Each beverage was evaluated for its creativity, flavor balance, presentation, and storytelling, with the top three entries standing out for their innovation and execution. “The level of passion and creativity displayed by our local baristas today is a testament to the vibrant future of Philippine coffee,” shared one of the judges.
Jarren Jay Narciso from The Good Cup won as the overall champion together with runner-ups Louis Anjello Cheng from Meru and Lorenzo Castillo from Candid. Champion Jarren Jay Narciso will represent the Philippines at the MONIN Coffee Creativity Cup 2025 Grand Finals on September 9 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With the leadership of WWFSI and the support of valued partners—Farm Fresh, Barista Depot, Conti, Anfim, and Brittany Hotel BGC—this year’s MCCC marks another important step in building global recognition for Filipino coffee talent. Plans are already underway for further collaborations, trainings, and events to expand the platform and reach of local beverage professionals.
