MAGSAYSAY’s leadership and contributions to the maritime industry were recognized at the Crew Connect Global Awards 2026 held on October 21 at Shangri-La The Fort, Manila.
Magsaysay Group President and CEO Doris Magsaysay Ho received the Lifetime Achievement Award, the event’s highest individual recognition. Selected by the Seatrade Editorial Board, the award recognized Doris’ significant and lasting contributions to shipping and the maritime industry. Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC) Executive Chairman Marlon Roño, meanwhile, received the Outstanding Leadership Award for his work in advancing the sector and making a difference in the lives of seafarers.

MMC was also named a finalist in two categories: Industry Partner and Industry Champion. Both nominations highlighted MATTERS (Magsaysay Total Enrichment & Resilience System), the Group’s integrated crew welfare framework supporting more than 70,000 Filipino seafarers worldwide. Through MATTERS, MMC brings together programs focused on seafarer safety, professional development, mental wellbeing, digital learning, and family support.
