In the recently concluded 2023 Crew Welfare Virtual Awards on June 20, Magsaysay People Resources Corporation (MPRC) President and CEO Marlon Roño emerged as this year’s “Crew Welfare Personality” awardee amongst the global personalities in the maritime industry.
The Crew Welfare Awards is a prestigious award by Safety4SEA, the world’s leading source of news and insight on safer, smarter, and greener shipping. The award granted during the Crew Welfare Week celebration aims to recognize organizations in the maritime industry that foster crew well-being and sustainable shipping. The awardees are selected through a combination of open nomination, online voting, and vote from a panel of industry experts. Two categories named their winners through an exclusive vote from the panel — the Personality and Leadership Awards.
In addition, Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC) was also a nominee in the Crew Manager category. Last year, Magsaysay Group of Companies President and CEO Doris Magsaysay Ho received the Personality Award.
These recognitions are demonstrations of Magsaysay’s lifetime commitment to promoting and sustaining crew welfare and a testament to the strong desire that roots in its leadership and management.
