On March 2, 2025, MAGSAYSAY representatives joined leading academic institutions and international partners at the Building Bridges in Higher Education: Canada–Philippines Partnership Forum, held at The Bayleaf Hotel in Manila. The forum, co-hosted by the Embassy of Canada in the Philippines, the Alberta Bureau for International Education (ABIE), and the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), aimed to strengthen international partnerships and support the development of future-ready talent in the region.
During the session titled “Digital Microcredentials: Building Lifelong Learning Pathways for a Future-Ready Workforce,” Magsaysay People Resources Corporation (MPRC) President Marlon R. Roño spoke alongside Humber Polytechnic Associate Dean, Global Education and Partnerships Rebecca Fitzgerald and Panpacific University Vice President for Internationalization Dr. Engelbert Pasag. The discussion explored how digital microcredentials can enable flexible, stackable learning pathways aligned with evolving workforce demand and regional education priorities.
In his presentation, MPRC President Marlon R. Roño highlighted how Magsaysay has integrated digital learning platforms, stackable microcredentials, and industry-aligned technical training across maritime, hospitality, and other technical sectors. He emphasized that such programs allow learners to upskill rapidly, respond to new workplace technologies, and build credentials recognized both nationally and internationally.
The forum served as a platform to explore transnational education strategies, digital credential portability, and lifelong learning pathways, providing insights into how Philippine institutions can collaborate with global partners to build skills-based talent pipelines.
Magsaysay’s participation underscored its commitment to workforce development and its role in shaping industry-aligned education that supports both career progression and international mobility.
