MAGSAYSAY Attends Historic Queen Anne Ship Launch

Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC), led by its president, Arnold Javier, with fleet HR director for Cunard, Josie Costillas, were privileged to be part of the historic water cannon salute launch of Cunard’s Queen Anne ship at Southampton, Hampshire in England on May 1 and 2. The event was participated by Cunard’s by partners in media, trade, and manning, including companies who contributed in building the ship.
 
Cunard’s newest ship offers luxurious accommodation at its Queens Grand Suites, world-class shows at its Royal Court Theatre, newest recreational trends like pickleball at its top deck, and a complete package of wellness and beauty care, including a wellness café. Queen Anne is Cunard’s first new ship to launch after 14 years and the 249th to sail under the Cunard flag. The 3,000-passenger ship stayed at Southampton for two nights before its seven-night maiden voyage to Lisbon.
 
Meanwhile, MMC representatives also attended the Global Talent Partners (GTP) conference at Carnival UK (CUK) House in Southampton on May 2. GTP Conference gathered its global talent partner companies. At the conference, CUK leadership cascaded its strategic workforce plan priorities and Crew Experience Improvement program. An initial plan to develop a crew experience mobile app was also introduced. Crew experience and engagement is an essential part of MMC in promoting and championing crew welfare. MMC representatives shared their best practices in crew experience and developing a crew mobile app.
 
MMC also visited the MAGSAYSAY crew on board Britannia vessel and held a town hall meeting.
