Magsaysay and Homer Foundation joined the global maritime community in commemorating Sea Sunday 2026 on July 12, 2026 at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Forbes Park, Makati.
Representing the MAGSAYSAY community were members of the Magsaysay Wives Club, cadets, seafarers, and the Magsaysay Children’s Chorale, together with their parents and guardians. These groups have consistently participated in the annual celebration, demonstrating MAGSAYSAY’s supportfor seafarers and their families.
This year’s theme, “Harbours of Hope: The Church Alongside Seafarers,” highlighted the role of churches and faith communities as places of welcome, refuge, dignity, and connection for those who work at sea. It encouraged congregations to serve as modern-day harbors of care and support for seafarers, especially during challenging times.
Sea Sunday is an annual worldwide observance dedicated to praying for seafarers, recognizing their important contributions to global trade, and supporting maritime welfare organizations. The event was organized by Sailors’ Society, The Mission to Seafarers, and Stella Maris, also known as the Apostleship of the Sea.
MAGSAYSAY has been a longstanding partner of these maritime welfare organizations through various programs and initiatives. Its participation in Sea Sunday reflects its continuing commitment to enriching lives and promoting the well-being of seafarers, their families, and the wider maritime community.
