From Training to Belonging: MTC Holds Second Batch Completion Ceremony of CICT Program

Magsaysay Training Center (MTC) marked a significant milestone as it held the completion ceremony for the second batch of its Cruise Industry and Career Training (CICT) program on April 10, 2026, following a 17-day training conducted from March 23 in partnership with fourth-year Tourism students from Northern Iloilo State University.

The program delivered a structured curriculum combining classroom instruction and practical application, aimed at preparing students for careers in the global cruise and hospitality sectors. It forms part of MTC’s ongoing efforts to align academic preparation with industry requirements and enhance workforce readiness.

As part of the training, students underwent hotel familiarization at City Garden Suites, where they gained valuable exposure to real-world hospitality operations and service standards, strengthening their understanding of industry practices relevant to cruise environments.

The program also included a 300-hour internship component aimed at developing technical competencies, discipline, and adaptability required in international workplace settings, while supporting both professional and personal development.

The completion of the program marks not an end but the beginning of the students’ journey toward careers at sea. More than the knowledge and skills acquired, the experience fostered a sense of belonging—a strong foundation as they take their next steps forward.
