Fairmont-Magsaysay Concludes Adopt A Ship International Program at Rosario Complex Elementary School

Fairmont-Magsaysay successfully concluded its Adopt A Ship International (ASSI) collaboration program at Rosario Complex Elementary School (RCES), Laguna marking a meaningful milestone in advancing maritime education and youth engagement in the local community.

The program formally closed on December 10, 2025, following several months of structured learning activities designed to expose students to real-world maritime life and global trade. The initiative was officially launched on August 27, 2025 with key stakeholders.

The Adopt A Ship International program is a global educational initiative that connects students with active ship officers through guided email exchanges and classroom discussions. Through this platform, students gain firsthand insights into life at sea, ship operations, maritime safety, and the role of shipping in global commerce. The program also reinforced core subjects such as geography, science, and social studies by placing them in a practical, industry-based context.

As part of Fairmont-Magsaysay’s commitment to maritime education, three ship masters were assigned with three RCES classes. The program reached a total of 374 students from Grades 4 to 6 and was integrated into the Social Science curriculum by four participating teachers.

The program was successfully delivered through strong collaboration among RCES teachers, school leadership, the Schools Division Office of San Pedro City, and Fairmont-Magsaysay ship officers. Their collective efforts ensured continuity and meaningful engagement throughout the program during duration.

The successful implementation of the Adopt A Ship International Program at RCES underscores Fairmont-Magsaysay’s ongoing commitment to education, community partnership, and the promotion of maritime awareness among the youth helping inspire future generations to explore opportunities in the maritime industry.
