Magsaysay Learning Resources, Inc. (MLRI) conducted its Advanced Marine Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning (AREF) Training for Philippine Navy personnel from October 12 to 16, 2026, at the Times Plaza Building in Malate, Manila, in support of the specialized knowledge and technical expertise required to maintain critical shipboard systems.
The five-day training focused on the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of marine refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. Participants took part in practical exercises using an R-22 three-chamber provision plant and an R-134a centralized air-conditioning unit, applying their technical knowledge to actual equipment.
These systems play an important role in vessel operations, from preserving provisions to maintaining onboard air-conditioning equipment. The training gave participants the opportunity to strengthen their technical knowledge and practical skills in maintaining these essential shipboard systems.
Through specialized maritime training, MLRI supports the development of technical expertise among maritime personnel, helping them maintain essential shipboard systems and meet the demands of their duties.
