Magsaysay manning companies participated in a forum on the 2026 Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Standard Employment Contract and Sea-based Rules held last June 30, 2026, at the Robert Hall, Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA) Manila.
The forum was organized to strengthen the understanding of professionals involved in crew deployment, documentation, processing, and compliance for international commercial shipping and cruise line principals. It provided an important opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the new rules, their operational impact, and the shared responsibility of ensuring accurate and compliant implementation.
The session was led by former DMW Assistant Secretary Atty. Jerome Pampolina, who has held key leadership roles overseeing sea-based OFW concerns, legal services, and legislative affairs. He also served as Chairperson of the Technical Working Group that drafted the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers, as well as the 2026 Sea-based Rules and the Standard Employment Contract for Overseas Filipino Seafarers.
The 2026 DMW Standard Employment Contract represents the country’s continuing commitment to protecting the rights, welfare, and future of Filipino seafarers, while ensuring that the Philippines remains a trusted source of world-class maritime professionals.
For MAGSAYSAY, the forum reinforces the company’s commitment to regulatory compliance, operational readiness, and responsible crew deployment, while ensuring that seafarers are properly informed, protected, and supported throughout their employment journey.
