Asahi Crew Conference Reinforces Commitment to Safer Shipboard Operations

Asahi Tanker Ltd., in partnership with Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC), successfully conducted its annual two-day Crew Conference at Pico de Loro Cove on May 28–29, 2026, bringing together crew members and company representatives for meaningful discussions centered on safety, learning, and professional development.

The conference featured sessions on key operational topics, including enclosed space entry safety, practical risk assessment, SIRE and CDI observations, pilot transfer arrangements, digital learning initiatives, and career development. To reinforce these safety concepts, selected Asahi crew members performed short skits creatively depicting real-world shipboard scenarios and the importance of responsible decision-making at sea.

The conference concluded with a bowling tournament that brought energy, teamwork, and friendly competition to the event. While the activity celebrated with the winning team, it also served as a reminder that success at sea, much like in any team sport, is achieved through collaboration, mutual support, and a commitment to keeping everyone safe.

Both organizers and participants described the conference as a productive and memorable experience, reflecting the shared commitment of Asahi and Magsaysay to continuous learning, crew engagement, and the promotion of safe and efficient shipboard operations.
