Viking Cruises, in partnership with Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA), has launched a scholarship program aimed at opening career pathways for aspiring Filipino hospitality professionals seeking opportunities in the global cruise industry.
The initiative follows a scholarship-to-deployment pathway, allowing qualified candidates to undergo specialized hospitality training at MIHCA and potentially qualify for deployment with Viking Cruises upon completion of program requirements.
Highlighting the training opportunities and international career pathways for Filipino hospitality workers, . MIHCA President Chef Paolo Guevara and MIHCA Food and Beverage alumnus Zeb Rebong were recently featured in an ABS-CBN TV Patrol segment with correspondent Zen Hernandez on May 20, 2026.
During the feature, MIHCA alumnus Zeb Rebong shared his journey from training at MIHCA to gaining industry experience at Illumine Restaurant, leading to his employment with Viking Cruises.
MIHCA opened applications for the program on May 25, 2026 via its official Facebook page. The application period will run until June 19, 2026.
The Viking–MIHCA scholarship initiative underscores ongoing efforts to link hospitality education with global employment opportunities, supporting the development of Filipino talent for the international cruise industry.
