The Magsaysay Global Services Inc. (MGSI) Europe Team joined a Trade Skills Familiarization Course at the Magsaysay Institute of Shipping (MIS) in Dasmariñas, Cavite last December 11, 2025. The program aimed to give the team a closer look at technical trades, helping them sharpen their recruiting skills for roles such as welders and scaffolding personnel.
The course was led by MGSI General Manager for European Accounts Alvin Gonzales along with other account managers, supervisors and officers. An MIS instructor conducted the training, covering welding fundamentals, different types of welding, and basic scaffolding concepts. The session combined lectures with hands-on practice, allowing participants to operate welding equipment and gain a better understanding of the skills their applicants bring to the table.
As an institution offering technical-vocational programs, MIS provides courses that follow industry standards, supported by equipped facilities and experienced instructors. Programs like this give recruitment teams practical insight into the trades, helping them evaluate candidates with a more informed perspective.
