MIS x MDCS Successfully Conduct Renewable Energy Awareness Seminar

The Magsaysay Institute of Shipping (MIS), in partnership with MDCS Equipment Technology OPC, successfully conducted a free Renewable Energy Awareness Seminar: Wind and Solar Power Systems on November 20, 2025, at the MIS campus in Dasmariñas City, Cavite. The seminar aimed to build foundational understanding of renewable energy systems and demonstrate their practical applications across maritime and technical-vocational settings.

The seminar brought together a diverse group of TESDA CALABARZON representatives and specialists, MMMA Engineering students and faculty, MIS ETO Training alumni, and the Magsaysay Learning Technical & Maintenance Team. Their participation highlighted a growing multi-sector interest in renewable technologies and emphasized the shared commitment of educators, regulators, and practitioners to strengthen future-ready technical competencies.

A technical discussion was held to introduce participants to the fundamentals of wind and solar power systems. The session covered system components, operating principles, efficiency considerations, and the increasing relevance of renewable technologies in maritime operations and industrial applications.

The hands-on component, powered by MDCS’s expertise as a manufacturer, was facilitated by the MDCS team. Participants worked with actual solar and wind system components, performing basic assembly, testing, and troubleshooting exercises. These activities strengthened their understanding of system behavior and supported the development of practical, industry-relevant skills.

This collaboration showcased the complementing strengths of both organizations: MIS as a training institution committed to developing competent, future-ready professionals, and MDCS as an equipment manufacturer advancing accessible renewable energy technologies. Together, they contribute to expanding technical capacity in sustainable energy systems within the maritime and technical-vocational sectors.

By equipping participants with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, MIS and MDCS reaffirm their commitment to supporting the transition toward cleaner, more sustainable technologies and to empowering learners and practitioners to play active roles in shaping an energy-conscious future.
