It is often said that a fulfilling life and a meaningful career are deeply interconnected. When we understand ourselves better, we lead with greater purpose. When we communicate with clarity, we build stronger relationships. And when we grow from within, we create space for others to grow too.
With this in mind, the Human Resources (HR) Team of Magsaysay People Resources Corporation (MPRC), in collaboration with the International Coaching Federation (ICF – Philippines Chapter), launched a new initiative that places personal growth at the core of its people development efforts: coaching.
The Coaching Pilot Program was officially launched on August 1 at MIHCA Manila, Times Plaza Building. Forty Magsaysay People (MPs) from the Cruise and Marine Fleet teams attended the event, marking the start of a coaching journey designed to help participants reflect, refocus, and reconnect with their purpose.
The program includes six one-on-one coaching sessions with certified coaches from ICF, tailored to support MPs in:
– Gaining clarity in both personal and professional areas,
– Strengthening leadership and communication skills, and
– Adopting a coaching mindset that builds trust and resilience.
The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement signed by Magsaysay President and CEO Doris Magsaysay Ho, Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC) President Arnold Javier, and ICF Philippines Charter Chapter President Irvin Domingo, Jr.
“In pursuit of Magsaysay’s purpose to enrich people’s lives through fulfilling careers, this partnership marks a meaningful step in building a culture that uplifts, empowers, and transforms,” shared MPRC HR Head, Julian Paolo Nagtalon. “By providing our MPs with the opportunity to experience coaching firsthand, we aim to deepen their ability to lead with empathy and model the kind of growth we hope to inspire in others. Through this journey, we envision our MPs becoming champions of coaching — able to communicate its value and impact to the people we serve every day.”
As part of the pilot, MPs also participated in engaging and heartfelt sessions led by Chief Instigator and Founding Partner of Haraya Jackie Caniza, and Global Executive and Team Coach Anda Goseco.
This initiative is more than just a program, it’s a movement toward deeper connection, greater self-awareness, purpose-driven and human-centered leadership. By investing in coaching, Magsaysay is investing in its people, empowering them to grow, lead, and live more fulfilling lives.
